Tox-Aid® is developed to decrease the negative effects of mycotoxins. The product is developed based on more than 25 years of knowledge, technique and science in the field of mycotoxins.

Mycotoxins, toxic products of fungi, can be produced during the growth process of crops and during the storage phase. When mycotoxins are present in animal feed this will effect the immune system, fertility and performance of production animals. Besides this, multiple types of mycotoxins may interact and cause a synergistic effect. In this way, the effects of mycotoxins on the animal are increased.

 One of the characteristics of Tox-Aid® is binding of mycotoxins in the digestive tract of the animal. Several studies showed that some mycotoxins easily bind (e.g. aflatoxins, endotoxins and ergot alkaloids). With other mycotoxins, e.g. ZEA and trichotecens (DON and T-2) this binding is minimal. Tox-Aid® has the quality to de-activate these mycotoxins in the digestive tract of the animal. Due to the combination of binding and de-activation, the absorption of mycotoxins by the animal is reduced.
